Check out this blog post: The Library of Congress Launches The National Jukebox. How cool! About ten years ago, I took a music appreciation course called "Music of Multicultural America" taught by Dr. Elizabeth Barkley at Foothill College. This would have been a great resource.

On Being a Grown-Up, Genealogically Speaking!
Last evening I participated in a webinar titled "How Mature are You (Genealogically)?". The presentation was given by Robert Raymond and sponsored by the Virtual Chapter of the Utah Genealogical Association. Raymond presented his method for assessing how proficient one is in genealogical research. For more information, you can read about the Genealogical Maturity Model here at the FamilySearch wiki.
For those who want to assess their understanding and use of genealogical standards and improve their skills in family research, this is a good starting point.

A New Blog is Born!
For several months I've been writing a blog that focuses on my personal family research - Denise's Life in the Past Lane. I've had ideas for general genealogical postings but didn't want to post them there.
So a new blog is born! I hope you enjoy.
